A Columbia man will serve 18 months in prison for killing a woman in an automobile collision in which he was almost five times over the legal alcohol limit.

Jason Bukovsky, 32, was sentenced Aug. 18 by Anne Arundel County Circuit Court Judge Paul Hackner to 10 years in prison, with all but 18 months suspended, after pleading guilty to one count of automobile manslaughter, according to Kristin Fleckenstein, a spokeswoman for the Anne Arundel State's Attorney's Office.

The collision occurred on Dec. 22, 2007 on Route 170 north of Dorsey Road, according to court documents. Bukovsky, who was driving a Jeep Wrangler southbound on Route 170, veered into the northbound lane, striking head-on a Honda Accord driven by Soon Young Livingston, according to court documents. Livingston was pronounced dead at the scene, according to court documents.

A blood test of Bukovsky revealed a blood alcohol content of .39, according to court documents. The legal limit is .08.
