Howard Community College is expanding its offering of classes for students interested in the field of professional and personal coaching for the fall semester.

The college recently partnered with San Francisco-based New Ventures West, a training organization, to allow students to work toward associates degrees and certifications in professional coaching.

The seven courses offered for the fall include "Coaching for Performance in the Workplace," "Coaching Through Change and Transition" and "Establishing a Consulting/Coaching Practice."

Registration for the classes ends Monday, Aug. 25. Classes start at the end of August. The tuition is about $300 per credit hour, college spokeswoman Jane Sharp said.

The college also is planning professional coaching workshops in mid-October.
