The Maryland State Department of Education has awarded Howard Community College a $137,000 grant to provide scholarships for those working in the child care field who are seeking degrees in early education.

The Child Care Career and Professional Development grant is intended to cover the costs of tuition, books and fees for students seeking a two-year teacher education degree at HCC while concurrently working at a child care facility.
