Pedestrian hit by car on Route 32 listed in critical condition

A 44-year-old Prince George’s County man was listed in critical condition Friday morning, after being struck by a car along Route 32 near Columbia.
The man, Franklin Trowell Jr., of Clinton, is listed in critical condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, according to Howard County Police.
Police are investigating the collision, which occurred just after 4 a.m. on eastbound Route 32 near Interstate 95 when a 1998 Chevy Cavalier struck Trowell, who was on the shoulder of the roadway checking on a separate collision, police said.
Police identified the driver of the Cavalier as Leonard Supsic, 55, of Laurel.
Police request that those who witnessed the collision call the department at 410-313-3700.
