A 13-year-boy was killed Tuesday in Sykesville when the Mazda he was a passenger in pulled onto Route 32 from River Road and was struck by a tow truck, police said.

Vincent Woodward, 13, was pronounced dead at Howard County General Hospital, according to Howard County Police. Woodward had been seated in the front passenger seat when the operator of the Mazda, Kyong Hae Kim, 51, of Sykesville, attempted to make a left turn from River Road onto southbound Route 32 and was struck by a 1997 International Flatbed tow truck traveling north on Route 32, police said.

Kim was listed in critical but stable condition Thursday at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, a hospital spokeswoman said.

A third occupant of the Mazda, 5-year-old Jacqueline Woodward, was listed in stable condition at Children’s Hospital, police said. A Children’s Hospital spokesperson could not be reached for comment Thursday.

The driver of the tow truck, Tymothy Thatcher, 39, of Westminster, was not injured, police said.

Information on where Vincent and Jacqueline Woodward were from was not available from police.
