Laurel Mayor Craig Moe officially became the new president of the Maryland Municipal League June 30, when he received the gavel from the outgoing president, Mayor Sidney Katz, of Gaithersburg, at MML’s inaugural dinner at the group's annual convention in Ocean City.
Moe said he greatly appreciated the confidence expressed by the vote of his municipal colleagues, and is looking forward to an exciting year as president. He will serve a one-year term as president.
Laurel City Councilman Frederick Smalls was sworn in as an at-large member of MML’s board of directors.
