Howard County police announced Tuesday that they had arrested 13 men in their latest prostitution sting in Jessup Oct. 31.

Among those arrested were men from Laurel, Elkridge and Jessup, police said. The men were charged with solicitation of prostitution.

Detectives and police officers worked to identify men along Route 1 in Jessup. Female officers in plain clothes worked undercover in areas targeted by citizen complaints to determine whether they would be approached and offered money for sex. Men who approached the female officers and made the offers were arrested, police said.

Police encourage residents concerned about prostitution in their area to call 410-313-3200.
