An Anne Arundel County man was killed Wednesday when the vehicle he was driving struck a tree on Gorman Road, in North Laurel.

The driver, Kevin Michael Aldridge, 37, of the 3300 block of Old Line Avenue, in Maryland City, was driving a Volkswagen Jetta east on Gorman Road, east of Murray Hill Road, at about 9 p.m. when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway at a curve and struck a tree, Howard County Police announced Thursday.

Aldridge was transported to Greater Laurel Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Police are still investigating the accident.
