Man hit, killed by train in Ellicott City
Posted 2/05/10
A 41-year-old homeless man was struck and killed by a train Thursday night in Ellicott City, Howard County police said.
Police were called to the tracks about a half-mile from the end of Maryland Avenue, in Ellicott City, at about 8:45 p.m. after a train engineer reported striking someone laying in the tracks, police said. The engineer reported that he saw an unknown object in the tracks and unsuccessfully tried to stop the train in time, police said.
The man, identified as Edwin Morrow, 41, of no fixed address, was dead
when police arrived. Detectives found alcohol in his backpack and
detected an odor of alcohol on him.
Police do not suspect foul play and believe the man may have been sleeping or passed out on the tracks when he was struck, police said. The incident is still being investigated.

the Sun has identified him at Edwin Morrow. A local homeless man who was well known by everyone on old main street. Terrible way to go.
