Air Force Airman Christopher Dobbs, of Jessup, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. Dobbs, son of Christina Walters, is a 2006 graduate of Hammond High School.

Army Reserve Pvt. Michael Sprague, of Ellicott City, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Sprague, son of Ken Sprague, of Ellicott City, and Susan Sprague, of Gaithersburg, is a 2006 graduate of Wilde Lake High School.

Army Sgt. Andrew Luke, of Mount Airy, has been activated for future deployment to an undisclosed overseas location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Luke, son of Michael and Jeanne Luke, is a psychological operations specialist and analysis detachment superintendent, serving in Baghdad, Iraq. The soldier is a member of the 11th Psychological Operations Battalion, based in Upper Marlboro. He is a 2001 graduate of River Hill High School.

Air Force Airman Wesley Conquest, of Ellicott City, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. Conquest, son of Tammy Conquest, is a 2007 graduate of Mt. Hebron High School.
