A Columbia woman was killed June 28 in an automobile collision in Jessup.
The woman, Ma-Elisa Villaneuva, 43, of Webbed Foot Way, in Columbia, was pronounced dead at Howard County General Hospital after the collision, Howard County police said.
The collision occurred at about 10:28 p.m. when a Chevrolet Tahoe traveling south on Route 1 struck a Toyota Camry that was traveling north and attempting to make a left turn into a Jessup motel, police said.
The Camry was driven by Mario Perez, 39, of the 8800 block of Tamar Drive, in Columbia, police said, adding that the Camry was struck as it crossed the southbound lanes of Route 1 to enter the parking lot of the Cedar Motel.
Villaneuva was a passenger in the Camry.
Perez was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore. He was no longer at the hospital June 30, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The driver of the Tahoe was Rolando Huerta, 32, of the 8000 block of Jack Lane in Jessup, according to police. Huerta and three passengers in the Tahoe were not injured in the collision, police said.
No charges had been filed as of June 30 and an investigation is ongoing, police said.
