Ethel C. Stout

Ethel C. Stout, of Columbia, formerly of Laurel, died Aug. 15, 2008, of cancer, at Greater Baltimore Washington Medical Center. She was 68.

Born Nov. 26, 1939, in Laurel, to Elery and Emma Wells Kaiser, she attended high school in Laurel until 1956.

She married Ernest Stout in 1975.

Mrs. Stout worked as a taxi cab dispatcher for Bob's Cab and White's Yellow Top Cab, both in Laurel, for 20 years.

She was a resident of Laurel until 10 years ago, when she moved to a senior citizens' home in Columbia.

Family members recall that Mrs. Stout loved to play Bingo, collect Angel figurines and bake cakes and was an avid shopper of QVC and HSN.

She was predeceased by her husband of 27 years, Ernest Stout, who died in 2002; and a sister, Peggy Whitman.

Mrs. Stout is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Tammy and Jerry Lafferty, of Huntingtown, and Penny and Ermanno Palermo, of Phoenix; a sister and a brother-in-law, Betty and Richard White, of Delaware; a niece, Bonnie and her husband, Dexter Holland, of Eastern Shore; four grandchildren, Shannon, Taylor, Gian Luca and Gian Carlo; two great-grandchildren, Justin and Jordan; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Aug. 19, 2008, at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, in the Vermillion Chapel, in Elkridge.

Interment followed at Meadowridge Memorial Park in Elkridge.
