Gladys Franco de Ordonez

Gladys Franco de Ordonez, of Columbia, died Sept. 5, 2008, at Howard County General Hospital. She was 71.

She was born in Columbia on Feb. 16, 1937, to the late Nereo Franco and the late Demetria (Vasquez) Franco.

Mrs. Ordonez worked as an interpreter and was the wife of Jorge Hernando Ordonez-Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Jorge Hernando Ordonez-Smith, of Columbia; three daughters, Patricia Ordonez-Rozo, Cardina Monsalve and Diana Luz Arguello; a son Jorge Ordonez; three sisters, Irma Gonzalez, Nora Beltran and Betty Torres; and by three grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at St. Louis Catholic Church, in Clarksville, on Sept. 11, with Th Rev. Dominic Paridans officiating. Interment was at Good Shepherd Cemetery, in Ellicott City.
