Richard J. Patrone
Richard J. Patrone, 59, of Baltimore, died June 2, 2009 in Baltimore.
A Navy veteran, he was a coal miner at the North American Coal Company 1 Mine in Powhatan Point, Ohio. He was also a past master at Laurel Wreath Masonic Lodge 149.
Mr. Patrone is survived by his wife, Rosemary Patrone; sons Richard M. DeGenova and Thomas M. Patrone; grandchildren Gian DeGenova and Addison DeGenova; and sister Rose Marie Patrone.
Visitation was June 5 at 7 p.m. at Sterling Ashton Schwab Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville Inc., with American Legion services at 7:30 p.m., Masonic services at 7:45 p.m. and a memorial service at 8 p.m.
Harry A. Richardson Sr.
Harry Albert "Sarge" Richardson Sr., 91, a 56-year resident of Laurel, died June 6, 2009 at Laurel Regional Hospital.
Born Sept. 19, 1917 in Troutdale, Va., he was the son of the late Moncie and Mintie Richardson. He enlisted in the Army in 1940 and served 20 years. A World War II veteran, he was awarded the Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster for meritorious achievement in the North African ground operations during the Tunisia Campaign. He received numerous awards for acts of bravery and heroism, and was awarded the Purple Heart in 1944. He was the first soldier to have an arm rebuilt of platinum at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where he stayed for more than four years recuperating from his injuries. He met his wife, Concetta Duco, while at Walter Reed. He also had more than 35 years of service with the Department of Agriculture.
Concetta (Duco) Richardson, his wife of 50 years, preceded him in death.
Mr. Richardson is survived by his children, Sharon Lee Sivley and her husband, Dan, of Beltsville, Karen Ann Michel and her husband, John, of Laurel, Donald Clayman, of Laurel, Harry Albert Richardson Jr. and his wife, Katharine, of Laurel, and Mary Ann Souder and her husband, Lee, of Fulton; grandchildren Brian Sivley, Michael and Kevin Richardson, Lee Jr. and Ryan and Marlee Souder; brother Rudolph, of Tazwell, Va.; and sister Bertha Browning, of Lynchburg, Va.
Funeral services were June 9 at Donaldson Funeral Home, 313 Talbott Ave. Burial was June 10 at Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.

Jorge C. Solis
Jorge C. Solis, 70, a resident of Laurel since 1979, who formerly lived in Harrisburg, Pa., died May 30, 2009 in Laurel.
He was born June 2, 1938 in Chile. He was a horse groomer for J. W. Murphy at Laurel Park race track for 19 years.
His wife, Phyllis McCook Solis, whom he married in 1972, preceded him in death on April 9, 2009. Mr. Solis is survived by his sister, Primitiva Solis; sisters-in-law Beatrice Braley and Dorothy McCook; and many friends at the race track.
Visitation was June 8 from 4-6 p.m. at Donaldson Funeral Home, 313 Talbott Ave. Services were June 9 at noon at St. Mary of the Mills Church, with the Rev. John McKay officiating. Burial was at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Laurel.
