Edwin L. Vollmerhausen

Edwin Leroy Vollmerhausen, of Elkridge, died June 5, 2009, at his home from pancreatic cancer. He was 50.

Mr. Vollmerhausen was born in Laurel on Dec. 13, 1958, to Frank and Evelyn Vollmerhausen.

He was a lifelong resident of Howard County and a 1976 graduate of Atholton High School. For 30 years, he worked for Scan furniture until it went out of business in 2008. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, hiking, fishing and spending time with his family, according to family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Vollmerhausen is survived by his sons, Billy Vollmerhausen and daughter-in-law, Caitlyn, of Virginia; son Tommy Vollmerhausen, of Elkridge, and girlfriend, Michele Vissar; his daughter, Sarah Vollmerhausen, of Elkridge; his best friend, Rose Bechtold, of Savage; his grandson, Danny Vollmerhausen, of Virginia; his sister, Luanne Rushing, of Savage; his two brothers, Bud Vollmerhausen, of Deale, and Seibert Vollmerhausen, of Savage; and his stepmother, Gladys Vollmerhausen of Savage.

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 12, 2009, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 6004 Waterloo Road, in Columbia, at 2 p.m.
