Tillie Donaldson
Tillie Donaldson, formerly of Toms River, N.J., and a resident of Angel's Touch Assisted Living, in West Friendship, died June 10, 2009. She was 97.
Born July 4, 1911, in New York City, she lived most of her life in Leonia and Hackensack, N.J. Mrs. Donaldson was the wife of Thomas Donaldson, a captain on the Hackensack Fire Department.
Mrs. Donaldson was a homemaker. She worked briefly for the Hackensack Public Schools and enjoyed to travel, sew, and visit with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Mrs. Donaldson is survived by two sons and their wives, Ray and Fran Donaldson, of Fulton, and David and Sarina Donaldson, of Lakewood, N.J.; two grandchildren, Ryan Donaldson, of Sykesville, and Heather Donaldson Cormons and her husband, Thomas, of Charlottesville, Va.; and one great-granddaughter, Brooke Donaldson Cormons; and many nieces and nephews in upstate New York and N.J.
A service was held June 13, 2009, at the Living Hope Community Church, in Hackensack. Interment was at George Washington Memorial Park, in Paramus, N.J.
A memorial service will be held July 12, 2009, at 1 p.m. at Columbia United Christian Church, at the Meeting House, on Robert Oliver Place, in Columbia.
