Bushrod W. Hopkins

Bushrod Washington Hopkins, of Clarksville, died May 30, 2009, at Sunrise Assisted Living of Columbia. He was 93.

Mr. Hopkins was born in Berks County, Pa., July 31, 1915, to Matthew Smith Hopkins and Catherine (Washington) Hopkins.

A Merchant Marine, he was the widower of Mary (Spence) Hopkins.

Mr. Hopkins is survived by his sons, Bushrod W. Hopkins Jr., and Glenn S. Hopkins; a sister, Eleanor Sisson; a brother, John Hopkins; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Services were held June 20, 2009, at Woodside Cemetery, in Montgomery County.
