Carole Laverne Eason, of Columbia, died May 23, 2008, of breast cancer, at her residence. She was 41.
She was born July 15, 1966, in Milledgeville, Ga., to Emanuel Sr. and Rosa Lee Butts Larkin.
In 1985, she graduated from Baldwin High School, in Baldwin County, Ga.
Then in 1990, Ms. Eason graduated from Savannah State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science.
She was married to Eric S. Eason. The couple later divorced.
Ms. Eason worked as a computer specialist with the U.S. Department of Labor, in Washington, D.C., for 16 years.
Family members said Ms. Eason was instilled with Christian values as a child. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, in Clarksville, for more than 14 years.
She enjoyed sharing her religion with her children, Mario and Kendra, family members said.
Ms. Eason was predeceased by her mother, Rosa Lee Butts Larkin.
In addition to her former husband of 13 years, she is survived by a son, Mario C. Eason, of Columbia; a daughter, Kendra B. Eason, of Columbia; her father, Emanuel Larkin Sr., of Milledgeville; six sisters and four brothers-in-law, Dr. Madeline L. and Charles Nelson, of Henderson, Texas, Runette and Johnny Foston, of Milledgeville, Rosa J. Larkin, of Milledgeville, Brenda L. and James Wray, of Milledgeville, Debra L. and Willie Lamar, of Milledgeville, and Charla R. Larkin, of Milledgeville; six brothers and three sisters-in-law, Melvin and Frances Larkin Reeves, of Savannah, Emanuel Larkin Jr., of Waynesboro, Ga., Thelmon Larkin, of Decatur, Ga., Dr. Rufus and LaCrisia Larkin, of Flowery Branch, Ga., Donald Larkin, of Milledgeville, and Bernard and Lisa Larkin, of Gainesville, Ga.; five aunts, Geraldine L. Stephens, of Sandsville, Ga., Catherine L. Ward, of Milledgeville, Lillie Shinholster, of Milledgeville, Cora Lee Woolfork, of Vero Beach, Fla., and Idella Butts, of Akron, Ohio; an uncle, Dawson Butts, of Milledgeville; four close friends, Patricia Conyers, of Columbia, Jacinthe Paul, of Columbia, Denise Taylor, of Milledgeville, and Lois Smith, of Milledgeville; the Clarksville congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Funeral services were held May 27, 2008, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Clarksville.
Interment followed in Milledgeville.
