Fay E. Perry

Fay Elaine Perry, of Charleston, S.C., formerly of Columbia and Ellicott City, died May 22, 2008, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C. She was 71.

Born Sept. 16, 1936, in Newport News, Va., to Onslow and Annie Mae Appleton, she graduated from Warwich High School.

She attended Longwood College, now called Longwood University, in Virginia where she studied business.

She married Roy W. Perry in 1963. The couple later divorced.

Mrs. Perry and her husband relocated from the Washington, D.C., area to Columbia in 1970 to raise their family.

She was a homemaker who also worked as an office manager for Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, in North Laurel. She retired in 2001.

Mrs. Perry and her family relocated again in 2001 to Ocean Pines prior to moving to Naples, Fla. She had been a resident of Charleston for less than a year.

She was predeceased by her parents, Onslow and Annie Mae Appleton.

Mrs. Perry is survived by her former husband, Roy W. Perry, of Ashton; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Scott and Anne Perry, of Kensington, Brandon and Stacey Perry, of Charleston, and Kyle Perry, of Westminster; a daughter and a son-in-law, Shannon and Craig Hacklander, of Peachtree City, Ga.; and 10 grandchildren.

A private memorial service and interment will be held at a later date at Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery in Newport News.
