Raymond Leroy Jacobs, of Ellicott City, died June 1, 2008, of congestive heart failure, at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore. He was 97.
He was born Feb. 24, 1911, in Baltimore, to Henry C. and Linnie Etta Anders Jacobs.
In 1933, he enlisted in the U.S. Marines and served in Panama. He was honorably discharged in 1937. Family said that he was an expert in gun ammunitions.
He married Lottie Elaine Wheatley in 1938.
Mr. Jacobs owned and operated his own real estate firm, called Jacobs Realty, in Hunting Ridge, from 1945 to 1985. He retired that year and closed the company. He served as an associate broker for the company.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles S. Jacobs and Floyd Jacobs; four sisters, Sarah Mick, Ada Newman, Mary O'Connor and Lula Sellers; and a granddaughter, Karen Lynn Bousman.
In addition to his wife of 69 years, Mr. Jacobs is survived by a daughter and a son-in-law, Lois Elaine and Weston P. Bousman, of Ellicott City; a granddaughter, Wendy Marie Farthing, of Ellicott City; and two great-grandchildren, Charles Alexander Farthing and Samuel Weston Farthing, both of Ellicott City.
Funeral services were held June 4, 2008, at Slack Funeral Home in Ellicott City. The Rev. Nicholas Szobota officiated.
A private interment followed June 4, 2008, at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Dulaney Valley.
Margaret A. Jones
Margaret "Peggy" Ann Jones, of Catonsville, formerly of Ellicott City, died May 27, 2008, of a pulmonary embolism, at Northwest Hospital, in Baltimore. She was 58.
Born June 4, 1949, in Ellicott City, to Russell and Mary Jones, she was raised in the west end of the town, near Main Street, and attended Harriet Tubman High School, in Ellicott City, until 1966.
Ms. Jones worked as a nursing assistant for various nursing homes in Catonsville, including St. Joseph's Nursing Home, for more than 20 years.
She also was employed as a custodian at Howard Community College for three years.
Ms. Jones attended St. Paul's Catholic Church in Ellicott City, St. Mark's Catholic Church in Catonsville, and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, which she attended with her sister-in-law, Lil Jones.
Family members recall that she enjoyed talking on the telephone, working crossword puzzles and watching old Western movies on television.
Ms. Jones was predeceased by her parents, Russell and Mary Jones; a sister, Mary Hammond; and three brothers, Earl Joyce, Charles Joyce and Steve Joyce.
She is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Christine and Raymond Fields, of Columbia and Charlotte Jones, of Baltimore; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Joseph and Rolande Joyce, of York, Pa., Russell and Pearl Jones, of Philadephia, Eugene and Barbara Jones, of Ellicott City, William Jones, of Burlington, Vt., Carl Lee Jones, of Catonsville, and Rosie Joyce, of Ellicott City; two surrogate sisters, Roslyn Ratchford, of Baltimore, and Eleanore Joyce, of Columbia; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held May 31, 2008, at the New Zion Center of Hope in Ellicott City. The Rev. Karen Carter officiated.

Shirley M. Neighoff
Shirley M. Neighoff, of Ellicott City, died June 3, 2008, at Howard County General Hospital. She was 74.
Born Feb. 12, 1934, in Baltimore, to Kenneth and Minnie Warren, she graduated from Western High School, in Baltimore.
She married Albert "Buzz" E. Neighoff in 1954.
Mrs. Neighoff worked as a secretary for the B&O Railroad in Baltimore for more than 30 years.
She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Albert "Buzz" E. Neighoff, who died in 2001.
Mrs. Neighoff is survived by a brother and three sisters-in-law, Kenneth Jr. and Betty Warren, of Ellicott City, Dorothy Wheeler, of Maryland, and Barbara Neighoff, of Howard County; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held June 7, 2008, at Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home in Catonsville.
Interment followed at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville.
Fay E. Perry
Fay Elaine Perry, of Charleston, S.C., formerly of Columbia, and Ellicott City, died May 22, 2008, at the Medical University of South Carolina, in Charleston. She was 71.
Born Sept. 16, 1936, in Newport News, Va., to Onslow and Annie Mae Appleton, she graduated from Warwick High School.
She attended Longwood College, now called Longwood University, in Virginia, where she studied business.
She married Roy W. Perry in 1963.
Mrs. Perry and her husband relocated from the Washington, D.C., area to Columbia in 1970 to raise their family. The couple later divorced.
She was a homemaker who also worked as an office manager for Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, in North Laurel. She retired in 2001.
Mrs. Perry relocated again in 2001 to Ocean Pines prior to moving to Naples, Fla. She had been a resident of Charleston for less than a year.
She was predeceased by her parents, Onslow and Annie Mae Appleton.
Mrs. Perry is survived by her former husband, Roy W. Perry, of Ashton; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Scott and Anne Perry, of Kensington, Brandon and Stacy Perry, of Charleston, and Kyle Perry, of Westminster; a daughter and a son-in-law, Shannon and Craig Hacklander, of Peachtree City, Ga.; and 10 grandchildren.
A private memorial service and interment will be held at a later date at Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery, in Newport News.
