Howard T. Scheufele
Howard Tillman Scheufele, of Ellicott City, formerly of Catonsville, Reisterstown and Columbia, died June 11, 2008, at Ellicott City Health and Rehabilitation Center in Ellicott City. He was 76.
Born Sept. 1, 1931, in Catonsville, to Raymond and Margaret Scheufele, he attended Catonsville High School until the late 1940s.
In the 1950s, he enlisted in the Catonsville National Guard and served as a sergeant during his 16 years of service.
Mr. Scheufele was a mill worker with Monumental Mill Work in Baltimore and Westminster for at least 30 years prior to retiring in the early 1990s.
During his career, he served as a firefighter and a paramedic with the Catonsville Fire Department for 10 years.
While a resident of Columbia, Mr. Scheufele lived at Gwen's Place Assisted Living.
Mr. Scheufele was predeceased by a sister, Mary Poist; and five brothers, Joseph Scheufele, George Scheufele, Richard Scheufele, Raymond Scheufele and Albert Scheufele.
He is survived by four brothers, Charles Schefele, of Ellicott City, William Schefele, of Baltimore, Raymond Schefele, of Baltimore and Dennis Schefele, of Sykesville; and two sisters, Pearl Cutcher, of Woodlawn, and Darlene Papale, of Catonsville.
Funeral services were held June 17, 2008, at Harry H. Witzke Funeral Home in Ellicott City.
Interment followed at Meadowridge Memorial Park in Elkridge.
