Christine E. Cook, of Halethorpe, died June 20, 2008, of a stroke, at St. Agnes Hospital. She was 75.

Born Nov. 24, 1932, in Clarksville, to William and Christine Lowe, she graduated from high school in Ellicott City.

She married Clarence W. Cook in 1943.

Mrs. Cook was a homemaker who worked at C&T Telephone Co. as a telephone operator.

She was a member of United Methodist Church in Ellicott City.

Mrs. Cook was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Clarence W. Cook, who died in 1987.

Family members recall that she was a strong, compassionate and caring mother and friend.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan A. Cook, of Pasadena and Tracie L. Emge, of Lansdown; two sons, Charles W. Cook, of Catonsville and Steven M. Cook, of Baltimore; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held June 23, 2008, at Emory United Methodist Church in Ellicott City. The Rev. L. Katherine Moore officiated.
