Lucille Ruddock Tripp, of Columbia, formerly of Rome, N.Y., died June 18, 2008, of congestive heart failure. She was 90.

Born Jan. 13, 1918, in New Britain, Conn., to Hettie and Lewis Ruddock, Mrs. Tripp graduated from Technical High School, in Springfield, Mass.

She received her nursing degree from the Springfield Hospital Training School for Nurses in 1940. She was a private duty nurse, a school nurse and worked at Doctors Hospital, in Sarasota, Fla., during her career.

She married Donald L. Tripp in 1940. They were married until his death in 1992.

The family moved to Rome in 1949, where they lived for more than two decades. In 1973, Mrs. Tripp and her husband retired to Sarasota, where Mrs. Tripp remained until 2006 when she moved to Maryland to be near her son and daughter-in-law, David and Judith Tripp.

Mrs. Tripp was a longtime summer resident of Ocean Park, Maine. She was an avid golfer and bridge player, a talented seamstress, and a frequent volunteer at hospitals and churches.

In addition to her son and his family she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mogens Ravn of Ocean Park; her sister, Alice Belleville, of Texas; four grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is scheduled for Aug. 1 in Ocean Park.
