Creative Concepts Salon Inc. is celebrating its 15th year on Main Street with refreshments, door prizes and giveaways through Saturday, July 18.

Alecia Browder opened the salon July 5, 1994, next door to the Main Street post office.

"What an exciting day," Browder said. Owning a salon was "something that I had wanted for a long time. I was hoping the business would work; of course it did with a few headaches, which was expected. Then the salon began to grow. The location was good and we had quite a lot of walk-ins," Browder said.

Browder said some of her clients have been with her for nearly 30 years, and followed her to the Main Street shop.

The shop has two new stylists, Sonia Portillo and Deborah Ferguson.

"Our salon is now diverse," Browder said.
