Games to watch
Sept. 5: River Hill at Atholton. A week-one test for two playoff teams.
Sept. 12: Glenelg at Long Reach. A 7-6 win set Glenelg off on a six-game winning streak after an 0-4 start last year.
Sept. 20: Oakland Mills at Hammond. The ball will be aired out with these two pass-happy offenses.
Sept. 27: Marriotts Ridge at Wilde Lake. Doug DuVall could get his 300th win on homecoming.
Oct. 3: Centennial at Mt. Hebron. The Ed Holshue Cup brings intensity to what should be a well-matched game.
Oct. 10: Howard at Wilde Lake. A rematch of the 2007 3A East playoff first-round game.
Oct. 18: Reservoir at Howard. Howard won this game, 14-7, last season and went on a five-game win streak en route to the playoffs. Reservoir lost five of the next six.
Oct. 25: Wilde Lake at River Hill. This game should decide the county champion.
Oct. 31: Howard at Marriotts Ridge. Playoff spots could be on the line for each of these teams.
Nov. 7: Atholton at Oakland Mills. Atholton squeaked out a 26-20 overtime win in 2007 and made the playoffs with a 7-4 record. The Raiders may need a win against the Scorpions to get in this year, too.
