No big upsets in Week 4; hence, no major shakeups. But there were three shutouts and two one-point games. No homecoming games this week so all games are Friday night at 7.

1. (1*) River Hill. (4-0, 214 points scored, 15 points allowed)

This week the Hawks moved into first place in points scored and points allowed, and probably will stay there for the remainder of the season. The defense held Mt. Hebron to minus-41 yards rushing, yes negative 41...

Last week: Beat Mt. Hebron (1-3), 63-0. This week: at No. 5 Long Reach (2-2).

2. (2) Wilde Lake. (4-0, 120-58)

Survived a pretty good scare from Marriotts Ridge to stay at No. 2. Wilde Lake is now behind Howard in points scored this season. Can't argue with results, though.

Last week: Beat Marriotts Ridge (3-1), 7-6. This week: at No. 8 Atholton (1-3).

3. (3) Marriotts Ridge. (3-1, 132-19)

Defense held up against the excellent Wildecat offense, and they're now second in points scored and points allowed. The Mustangs were just a two-point conversion away from shocking the county.

Last week: Lost to Wilde Lake (4-0), 7-6. This week: at No. 6 Glenelg (2-2).

4. (4) Howard. (3-1, 131-81)

The Lions' defense has shown vulnerability, but the offense has made up for some mistakes. You never know which player will have the big game: Mark Covington scored five touchdowns on Saturday. They're just one bad game away from being 4-0. They also hit the jackpot by avoiding River Hill on their schedule.

Last week: Beat Oakland Mills (1-3), 47-26. This week: home against Hammond (0-4).

5. (5) Long Reach. (2-2, 81-70)

The Lightning recovered nicely from their worst game of the season by shutting out Reservoir. Can they play River Hill close?

Last week: Beat Reservoir (2-2), 32-0. This week: home against No. 1 River Hill (4-0).

6. (6) Glenelg. (2-2, 118-77)

The Gladiators' PF-PA ratio got a nice boost last week, and they did it all in three quarters before lightning cut things short. They should be able to give Marriotts Ridge a game.

Last week: Beat Hammond (0-4), 42-0. This week: home against No. 3 Marriotts Ridge (3-1).

7. (7) Reservoir. (2-2, 62-70)

The Gators need to get back on track this week against a scrappy Oakland Mills team. Last two weeks they've been outscored, 70-6.

Last week: Lost to Long Reach (2-2), 32-0. This week: home against Oakland Mills (1-3).

8. (10) Atholton. (1-3, 74-118)

The Raiders finally got their first win, though just by the skin of their teeth. Expect another setback this week.

Last week: Beat Centennial (1-3), 20-19. This week: home against No. 2 Wilde Lake (4-0).

9. (8) Centennial. (1-3, 40-108)

The Eagles get the edge over Mt. Hebron because they beat No. 4 Howard in Week 1. They'll have to defend their spot against the Vikings in a pick-'em game.

Last week: Lost to Atholton (1-3), 20-19. This week: at No. 10 Mt. Hebron (1-3).

10. (9) Mt. Hebron. (1-3, 38-150)

The Vikings are not being docked because of their lashing at the hands of River Hill; Atholton just needed to move up after beating Centennial. Mt. Hebron can move back up this week. Tough to put them here since they've already beaten No. 8 Atholton, but the Power Rankings reflect what has happened, while trying to predict what's going to happen.

Last week: Lost to River Hill (4-0), 63-0. This week: home against No. 9 Centennial (1-3).

On the bubble: Hammond (0-4), Oakland Mills (1-3).
