Three certainly was the lucky number July 4 for the West Arundel Aqua-Ducks.

The team improved to 3-0 in the Prince-Mont Swim League with a 322-241 win at home in Maryland City against the New Carrollton Dolphins.

And West Arundel had three swimmers set team records: Colette Pierce (9-10 breast), Kellianne Venit (13-14 free and IM) and Andria Moyer (15-18 free).

Triple winners for West Arundel were Brianna Gmeinwieser (U-8 free, breast and back), Jay Venit (9-10 free, breast and back), Pierce (9-10 free, breast and back), Ryan Webb (11-12 fly, free and IM), Andrea Sturgis (11-12 fly, free and IM) and Kellianne Venit (13-14 free, breast and IM).

Double winners for West Arundel were Micah Norsworthy (U-8 free and back) and Danielle Villeneuve (13-14 fly and back).

The Aqua-Ducks swept events in the 9-10 boys and girls, 11-12 boys and 13-14 girls.

Russett also improved to 3-0 on July 4, with a 319-236 win over the Pointer Ridge Dolphins. Triple winners for Russett were Allie Ritter (girls U-8 free, breast and back), Everett Butler (boys 11-12 fly, free and back), Taylor Hicks (girls 13-14 fly, free and back), Paris Hicks (girls 11-12 free, breast and IM), Hunter Cox (boys 13-14 free, back and IM) and Michaela Guild (girls 15-18 free, breast and IM).

Double winners for Russett were Meische Cox (girls 15-18 fly, back), Lauren Ritter (girls 9-10 free, back) and Gabe Cox (boys 15-18 breast, IM).

West Laurel fell to 0-3 this season with a 315-253 loss to Theresa Banks in Division A despite triple wins from Tony Bagileo (boys 13-14 50 butterfly, 50 free and 100 IM) and Danielle Bonadies, who won in the girls 13-14 50 free, 50 back and 100 IM.

Double winners were Erin Kane (girls 11-12 50 butterfly and 100 IM), Eric Brothman (boys 15-18 50 butterfly and 50 back) and Matt Stevens, who won the boys 15-18 100 free and 100 IM. Stevens set the pool record in Takoma Park with a time of 58.16 in the free. The West Laurel boys U-18 200 medley relay team of Nolan Smith, Spencer Smith, Eric Brothman and Stevens set a pool record at Banks with a time of 2:08.15.

Laurel City fell to 2-1 with a 303-243 loss to Bannister despite triple winners in Cameron Bouie (girls U-8 back, breast and free), Eanna Keys (girls U-10 fly, 9-10 free and breast) and Matt Whelan (boys 9-10 fly, back and free).

Montpelier improved to 1-2 with a 288-278 win over Greenbelt in Division B. Triple winners for Montpelier were Thomas Brown de Clostoun (U-10 boys fly, 9-10 breast and back), Dylan Buehler (11-12 boys fly, breast and IM), Jesse Walter (U-8 boys free, breast and back) and Nick Mills (13-14 boys free, breast and IM). Double winners were Anna Walter (U-10 girls butterfly and 9-10 breast), Joe Mills (boys 15-18 back and 100 IM) and Suzannah Mills (9-10 girls free and back).

In another Division B meet, held at Patuxent Greens in Laurel, the Silver Spring Swim Team lost to Whitehall, 291-264. No further details were reported.

In addition to a full slate of dual meets July 11, the 28th annual Laurel Invitational Swimming Championship will be held July 12 at 5 p.m. at Fairland Aquatic Center in West Laurel. Teams taking part will be Laurel City, Montpelier, Russett, West Arundel and West Laurel.
