Kieran Flannery, a Pallotti graduate, has missed about a month of the summer baseball season with a quad injury, according to Tim Norris, his coach with the Youse's Orioles in the Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League.

Flannery was one of four catchers on the roster at the beginning of the season. One of the others was Joe Velleggia, a former Calvert Hall star who played this past spring in college at Old Dominion. Flannery played at Indian River Community College in Florida this past spring.

Among the active pitchers with the team is Scott Swinson, who was drafted by the Orioles this past June out of the University of Maryland, and Andrew Permison, a Columbia resident from Towson University. Velleggia was also drafted by the Orioles in June; as of July 6 he and Swinson had not signed with the Orioles.
