On July 19, the Roger Carter Seals and Howard County Recreation and Parks hosted the 42nd annual Howard County Invitational Swim Meet. Twelve teams were represented with some unattached swimmers coming to join in the fun. This is the only meet where all of Howard County's swim teams can participate.

Swimmers finishing each race earned points for their team. First place was worth 20 points; second was worth 17 and third 16.

Many races were very close and much cheering and shouting filled the morning.

Roger Carter took first place in the team standings with 1,516.5 points. Following were Harper's Choice (615.5), Taylor Village (541), Owen Brown (385.5), Clemens Crossing (329.5), Atholton (308.5), unattached (286), Howard County YMCA (220), Columbia Clippers (174), Wilde Lake (157), Retriever Aquatic Club (103.5), Fort Washington (66) and Oakland Mills (30).
