Boys basketball: Glenelg Country, Chapelgate win conference games
Both teams undefeated in league play; Marriotts Ridge falls to Arundel

Chapelgate 93, Indian Creek 40
Chapelgate kicked off its Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association C Conference schedule Tuesday evening with a 93-40 victory over Indian Creek. Led by Aaron McCall (15 points), the Yellowjackets jumped out to a 48-16 lead at halftime and never looked back.
“Everybody on our team scored and this was the kind of game we needed to bounce back after a tough loss the other night (against Annapolis Area Christian),” Chapelgate coach Frick Frierson said.

Glenelg Country 59, Severn 52
Glenelg Country got another dominant performance on both ends of the floor from sophomore Isaiah Miles (28 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks) and was able to defeat MIAA B Conference foe Severn, 59-52, Tuesday night.
Severn jumped out to a 13-8 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Glenelg Country (5-0, 2-0) bounced back to take the lead at the half, 28-25. Severn would come back to take a three-point lead in the second half, but the play of Miles and freshman Warren Powers (12 points) in the fourth quarter helped the Dragons pull out the win.
Other standouts for Glenelg Country were Justin Johnson (12 points), Ben Jordon (6 assists) and Jimmy Tangires (5 assists). Severn was led by Jake Brudish (18 points).
