The game was Feb. 2. Leslie Addy had 20 points and 10 rebounds for Pallotti, which is 18-6 overall.

The game was Jan. 29. Laurel fell to 7-11, 3-10 as Jerrium Beale had 21 points, Omar Hendricks had 10 and William Odoh had eight.

Pallotti 64, St. Mary's 42

Brandon Manning had 18 points, Darrien Thomas had 12 and Keron DeShields had 10 for the Panthers.

Glenelg Country 70, Pallotti 60

The game was Jan. 29 in Howard County on Senior Night for GCS. DeShields had 35 points in the losing effort for the Panthers. "He's so good off the dribble and he can shoot the three as well, so he puts you in a tough situation," GCS coach Charlie Stewart said of DeShields, a Towson Catholic transfer. "We did a nice job helping on him and tried to keep the ball out of his hands, but he's tough."

Mt. St. Joe's 74, Pallotti 44

The game was Jan. 27. Mt. St. Joe's is in the A league of the MIAA.

Girls basketball

The game was postponed Feb. 2 and will be played Feb. 4 at Laurel.

Pallotti 55, Bryn Mawr 37

Pallotti won Feb. 1 as Tiffany Padgett had 16 points and Allison Abell, a senior, added 10 on Senior Night. Pallotti is 14-8, 10-3.

Roosevelt 58, Laurel 42

The game was Jan. 29. Laurel senior Dalvon Pinckney, one of the top scorers in the county, had 25 points for the Spartans. Laurel fell to 8-8, 5-7.

Severn 50, Pallotti 49 (OT)

The Panthers lost at home.

Pallotti boys 51, John Carroll 43

The Panthers boys won their first meet in at least six years, according to coach Matt Jordan.

Billy Rodgers, Justin Albrecht, Joe Jolissaint and Travis Harrison won the 200 IM relay for Pallotti. Rodgers won the 200 IM and 100 backstroke. Jolissaint won the 100 fly and J.T. Noland won the 100 free. Rodgers, Jolissaint, Justin Albrecht and Noland won the 400 free relay.

Names in the news

The Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association and Washington Catholic Athletic Conference may combine leagues for prep football as early as 2011. Steve Walker, the long-time athletic director at Pallotti, is the football chairman for the MIAA. Rick Diggs, the commissioner of the MIAA, is a vice principal of operations at Pallotti. "It is a very preliminary thing," Diggs said Feb. 1. "A whole lot would have to come to fruition for that to happen." Pallotti football will be in the C division of the MIAA in 2010. Pallotti senior Jackie Henehan was slated to sign a letter-of-intent on Feb. 3 to attend Towson for women's soccer. Towson is a Division I member of the Colonial Athletic Association. Laurel resident Ashley Lyles (Pallotti) had 15 points Jan. 30 as McDaniel won its 14th game in a row, over Byrn Mawr. It was the 600th win in school history. Will Alston (Laurel High) played in the first 20 games for Jacksonville in men's basketball and averaged 14 minutes and 3.8 points off the bench. Former Laurel High student David Potter had six points for Clemson in a win over Maryland on Jan. 31 in college hoops.
